Light festival and Guerrilla Lighting attack

One of the highlights of the 'Light in the City Hasselt' event will be the light festival taking place on Friday, October 18th. This initiative, which is organized by the City of Hasselt and open to general public, supports the popular city event 'Hasselt Jenever Festival'. The festival will be an interesting mixture of different types of illumination and lighting installations. The installations will be shown from 8 pm to midnight. Some examples:

Video mapping extra 'Delirium''

'Delirium' is a Jenever-related story, projected on the facade and on the square in front of the City Hall.

Light installation 'Witness'

'Witness'. The human sculptures of Willy Calis are arranged in an intimate garden and surrounded by light, music, and smoke. You look into a strange, intriguing world that raises questions: Who are those people? Who is watching who? Who is witness? Guerrilla Lighting attack:

The action, realised using powerful flashlights and a large number of assistants, will illuminate several landmarks of Hasselt. The aim is to challenge ordinary people to get involved in the development of urban lighting. The Guerrilla march starts from Molenpoort at 21:30!

Permanent illumination:

The light festival will be the start of the permanent illumination of several landmarks and historical buildings. Such as the ‘Sint-Quintinuskathedraal’, the Town Hall, ‘De Patriciërswoning Corswarem’ and 'Huis Pasteye’.
